The exponent painter of European figurativism Ennio Calabria was born in Tripoli on March 7, 1937. After completing his artistic maturity in Rome, he followed the courses of the Academy of Fine Arts. His first personal exhibition dates back to 1958 at the gallery "La Feluca ”In Rome where it draws great attention among critics. He is identified among the most significant painters of the generation that emerged between 1950 and 1960. His painting is always inserted in the historical and social context of his time and is addressed both to the social and autobiographical. In 1963 together with the painters Attardi, Farulli, Gianquinto, Guccione and Vespignani, and the critics Del Guercio, Micacchi and Morosini he founded the group "The pros and cons", a point of reference for new figurative research in Italy during the informal market period. .
