Cisternino Franco

Cisternino Franco

Franco Cisternino was born in Foggia (Italy) on July 21, 1969 and is now a resident of Bientina (Pisa) Italy. He lives his childhood in a humble and modest family atmosphere, which has led him to grow up quickly and provide not only for his own needs, but often also for those of the family. The predilection for drawing and painting, which has accompanied him since childhood, led him to attend the State Art Institute of Foggia and to obtain the diploma of "Master of Art". It is during the school years that, by studying, learning and deepening various pictorial techniques, such as oil, watercolor and graphite, he increases his already innate artistic skills. Since the beginning, in fact, he wins numerous competitions and impromptu. In order not to weigh on the family economy, while studying, he begins to carry out large-scale portraits, engravings and paintings (Advertising) on commission. Thus develops a protective character and a sensitive soul that, until not long ago, led him to create works that represented landscapes and environments compromised by the hand of man. Subsequently he became interested in the world of teenagers, creating works that revealed aspects and emotions of this delicate moment of human growth.

His latest production is aimed at the world of "Music" and that of the "Woman". Franco Cisternino is considered, in addition to an extraordinary talent, one of the most interesting realists on the Italian scene as, next to perfection in all his oil on canvas, we find a strength and a play of lights that attract, involving, the viewer. Since 2007, in fact, he has been selected and called annually to participate in prestigious International Contemporary Art Fairs, with a success that increases year after year. The works of the pictorial cycle "Woman" are a scenographic and symbolic representation of the woman, seen both with the eyes of an artist and with those of a man. With these paintings we want to represent the woman beyond the stereotypes of society: her essence, her humanity, her fragility and, at the same time, her strength. The choice of color, in its monochromaticity, slightly sepia, intends to give a sense of mystery, experience and / or memory. The veil that surrounds the woman has a multiple meaning: the part that delicately wraps her body is pink, almost merging with her own skin; while the remaining part of it wants to represent, through its tension, the influence of the social stereotype of a strong, emancipated, beautiful and thin woman. The title of the work is intended to help understanding it by using adjectives or names related to its intention to humanize it and to grasp its essence. The works of the "Music" pictorial cycle are not mere representations of musical instruments and notes, but want to interpret the concept of melody as a unifier, as a language of the human soul and as a life force capable of translating into poetry every little noise that surrounds the throughout his life.

That of Cisternino is a unifying palette with warm shades, with an incidence of almost zenithal light, bathed in chromatic nuances and soft, soft and graceful shades. The refined romanticism of the subjects represented becomes one of the keys to understanding his sophisticated works. Subject-objects, musical instruments and women, who seem to be flying, are the transmission of the essence of movement. In fact, the works seem to move in an elegant way, outside the canvas, in a visual game that communicates charm, mystery and amazement. Observing a work by Franco Cisternino means being impressed, without exception.
