Kostabi Mark

Artist and composer, he was born in Los Angeles in 1960 to Estonian immigrants. Moving to New York, he imposed himself as a provocative character by publishing interviews to himself on the theme of contemporary art. In 1988 he founded the Kostabi World, studio, gallery and office for himself and his assistant painters. His passion for culture, people, art and Italian cuisine led him to live six months a year in Italy. He creates the graphic design of LP covers for Guns 'n' Roses and Ramones, and brand names advertising for a Swatch watch, vases, computer accessories, and the pink jersey for the Giro d'Italia. He produces a cable television show in Manhattan, Inside Kostabi.
