Everyone is crazy about speed. Vittorio Vertone's art amazes and fascinates

On 12 March the Contemporaneità exhibition was inaugurated, a personal exhibition by Vittorio Vertone. The vernissage opened with the cutting of the ribbon entrusted to the councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Bari, Ines Pierucci, who in her introductory speech praised SanGiorgioArte for the initiative and the Pietragalla artist for having created an original artistic current and impact.

“I am happy to be here today - said the councilor Pierucci - in this space dedicated to art in the heart of Bari, guest of the SanGiorgioArte gallery which has a very long history that only more recently continues in this ancient building in via Sparano. I immediately appreciated the sensitivity and a very strong emotionality of the artist Vittorio Vertone. This new technique of rapidity and this speed to which we are too accustomed, must make us reflect on our scale of values and on the concept of slowness. Only slowness allows us to better enjoy these colors that evoke emotions and feelings. Each painting tells a story in which we can recognize ourselves ".

Under the attentive, passionate and curious gaze of the public, Vertone gave life to a live performance. With his instinctive and quick stroke, starting from a white canvas, he created brushstroke after brushstroke one of his unmistakable works, at the same time explaining to those present the technique used which uses egg whites and pure pigments to give the paintings mass , thickness and eternity.
