Sonnino Eliseo

Born in Rome in 1984. After high school he attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, where he graduated in 2010. Artist with a purely abstract language characterized by research on the contrasts between form and color. In line with the traditions of abstraction towards an ever more unique and personal evolution. Alongside his study activities, he has a long experience in urban art, in the relationship between artistic expression and the metropolis. He currently lives and works in Rome in his independent studio / space for contemporary art where he also organizes and curates exhibitions and cultural events.

In recent years he has participated in numerous awards and exhibitions:

  • In June 2022 personal exhibition "ENERGETICA" at the SanGiorgioArte gallery in Bari. 
  • In 2022 he participated in the collective exhibition "All puzzles for art" at the Galleria Arte e Pensieri in Rome. 
  • He participates in the Et Cetera festival in Pistoia where he creates a work on the theme of freedom in the Piazza del Duomo. 
  • In 2021 he takes care of the artistic direction and creates the backdrops of two murals in Rome Valle Aurelia for the event “All colors are beautiful”.
  • He exhibits in Sidney in 2020 together with Zap Galaxy in the “Xora” exhibition at The Good Space. 
  • In 2019 he took part in the collective exhibition "The infinite - closer to the universe where thought drowns" at the Monticello complex in Rome.
  • Participates in Milan in the exhibition "Future Memories 4.0, what's at the bottom of the platform" at the memorial of the Shoah in Milan Binario 21.
  • In 2018 he created a mural in San Cipirello (Palermo) dedicated to the memory of Giuseppe Caronia and Eugenio Sonnino. 
  • In 2017 he created 2 mural works in Rome along the path of the Monte Ciocci / Monte Mario cycle path within the Art Project, Open-air Museum.
  • Participates in the collective exhibition: "Italy-Greece, one face a race" at the BAT Gallery in Rome.
  • He takes part in the collective exhibition: “Roma 40 x 40” at the Contatto Gallery in Rome. 
  • In 2015 he took part in the collective: "Geometrie Astraenti" in Rome, eCampus University.
  • He took part in the eleventh edition of Paratissima in Turin during which he created the work “Memoria Futura”, donated and is now permanently exhibited at the Diffuso della Resistenza of the City of Turin.
  • In 2013 he exhibited alongside Luigi Boille in the double solo show: “Sign and Color beyond Postmodernism” at the Marchetti Gallery in Rome.
  • In 2010 he took part in the collective exhibition: “Neo-nati”, Galleria Marchetti in Rome.
  • He wins the tender launched by the Municipality of Cisternino (Brindisi) and creates a mural on the walls of the municipal parking lot.
  • In 2009 he participated in the National Arts Award in Catania and was selected among the finalists who will exhibit at the Crocetti Museum in Rome.
  • Participates in the 2009 Youth Award: “Marking/Drawing”, organized by the National Academy of San Luca in Rome, on the recommendation of Achille Perilli.
  • In 2008 he participated in the exhibition: “Academiae”, held at the Palazzo Appiani in Piombino (Livorno). 
  • In the same year he took part in the competition: “The art of non-discrimination”, held in Cecina (Livorno).
  • In 2007 he won the Erasmus scholarship and attended the Ecole des Beaux Arts de Toulouse.
