Raffaele Fiore was born in Naples in 1961. He began painting at a very young age but became part of the world of painting in the early 1980s, in a historical moment in which an exasperated search for originality seemed to prevail, resulting in arid extravagance. Fiore defends his pressing desire to represent reality, updating the teachings of the great masters of the past, through a careful study of colour, techniques, composition and light. He approaches the practice of sketching and portraiture, apparently simple worlds, but of extreme technical difficulty. In '93 he moved to Tuscany, where he still works and lives. He refined and enriched his professional experience by collaborating for several years on the reproduction of the classics ofItalian nineteenth century and European, but a now acquired expressive maturity brings him back to the solo show realist research undertaken in his youth. In the peculiar setting and in the dry brushstroke of the Venetian reflections all the expertise and expressive liveliness of his art is tangible. Without affecting the aesthetic value of the environments described, Fiore offers a personal vision rich in subjective interpretative meanings. His painting has enjoyed considerable acclaim since its inception, appreciated both in Italy and abroad.
