He was born in Faenza in 1954 as Andrea Mauro but signed by reversing his name and surname. The artistic activity began in 1975. The painter Franco Gentilini (from Faenza) visited his workshop and saw him as a worthy successor. Experiment with drawing a pencil and that a cinchona, oil painting and acrylic, terracotta and ceramic, bronze and marble, installation and video. This contamination of elements leads him to found an artistic current: Impure art. This label also accompanies the Madonnas considered heretical and blasphemous because they are portrayed in unusual poses and dressed in coats and jewels.
He is passionate about computer Michelangelo which becomes his new brush. Her female nudes are both white and impure, a representation of the woman's solitude and mystery.
He died in Faenza on 2 September 2010.
